Semester Mid-Term

Half way through semester two of active learning I feel a lot more confident than I did in the first semester. In the first semester I felt very intimidated by the grade nines but now I see casual friends in some of them. Not only that but last semester if we were doing a fitness activity and a grade nine was not trying I may have not either but now I don’t really care what they think because I know it is for my own benefit and it is just helping me. Also Surrey Minor Ball Hockey has finally started this spring and I am playing as a goaltender! My team is very well built and two of my three coaches are Shak and Deshank from the school! I am enjoying it very much and it’s a great way to workout considering how much fun it is. As a goaltender there is a lot of pressure but when you win it feels awesome. Even in the school playing hockey is insanely fun with the grade nines. At one point even the seniors joined in a game of hockey and it was fun. For me playing hockey really made me more comfortable with the older students. This semester we haven’t done the beep test and I personally like it so it would be cool if we could do that. In terms of grades I think I deserve a B or an A depending on the amount of effort you have seen from me because I missed two fitness days due to injury, so maybe a B.

  1. Jovan - very cool post. This is exactly the kind of information I was hoping you would share. I am glad that you are feeling more confident in PE and I'm sure that we will do the beep test again (I like it too!). Hope you have a great ball hockey season - sounds like fun. I would agree with your assessment at an A for PE so far. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress during the rest of the semester.
